Showing off font exercise

In this exercise, we were asked to select a typeface from Velvetyne Type Foundry and design a two-section web composition in Figma to showcase the font and its details by contextualizing it within the atmosphere it evoked for us.

I chose the Avara typeface and conducted research on its glyphs. I noticed that despite its very strict construction and sharp, angular forms, the typeface also contains a sense of freedom and an almost organic quality in certain glyphs and letterforms. This contrast led me to develop a floral visual composition that reflects this duality.

The second page expands on this exploration by incorporating literary references that further support the atmosphere and conceptual direction of the project.
